Owen Wilson: The Pain Behind the Smile

"He always seemed very happy to me. . . . When I heard the news this morning, I was totally shocked and, quite honestly, saddened,"

"Seemingly Perfect Life"

"How could he be this successful and do something like that?"

"They have a very close knit family!"

These are just a few of the quotes and titles across the media that describe
the public Persona of Owen Wilson.

It's the public persona that we put on these stars that make them
larger than life. At the end of the day, they have struggles and problems
like the rest of us.

They are constantly under the Pressure of Perfection.

I found a few quotes by Owen Wilson that reveal some of his Inner Thoughts of
striving that I thought were interesting.

What are your thoughts?

"You can think of Hollywood as high school. TV actors are freshmen, comedy actors are maybe juniors, and dramatic actors - they're the cool seniors."
Owen Wilson

Wilson on His Desire to Take on More Dramatic Roles:
“The Life Aquatic” offered Wilson an opportunity to do a more straightforward, even serious, type of role.

Wilson says the idea of doing more dramatic roles appeals to him. “I definitely would like to do some more dramatic roles. I think that sometimes with comedies, I try to keep stuff real, but especially with these big comedies, you have a burden to sort of try and deliver big laughs, and sometimes that can get into a sort of like craziness. It would be nice not to have that pressure on a movie [where] you could just kind of tell the story and be funny within that, where you don't have to go for the big moments or worry about that pressure.”

It seems to me that he has a yearning to have more dramatic roles to relieve some of the pressure he feels to "deliver" as expected. In the first quote he mentions that the Dramatic actors are like the "cool high school seniors" in Hollywood.

Acceptance and Esteem not only from Hollywood but from himself.

My prayers are with him and his family.

Michael Vick "I found Jesus"

Between Nancy Grace showing a halo over the head of Michael Vick
as he entered the courtroom and the rants of Glenn Beck tonight
you may have gotten a good laugh.

For once I had to agree with Glenn Beck on what he said tonight:

"The time to find Jesus is when you realize that you are in the pit of hell
the trick is to hold on to him"-paraphrased

And to add to that comment I say " Allow Christ to take a hold of you"

I'm glad that Michael Vick found Jesus and asked for forgiveness.
The true test of a Christ filled life is allowing God's Grace to renew and heal your
mind and transform your life.

Does this mean you are perfect after accepting the power of Christ into your life?

Absolutely not!

That would then make you God.

We wouldn't need him.

Accepting Christ allows you freedom to walk by faith and grace and not human perfection.

Allow Christ to take hold of your pain and your shame today.

Are You Living The Truth says Dr. Keith Ablow

"What we've forgotten as Psychologists is that people have stories underlying the
symptoms their lives." says Dr. Keith Ablow on today's show.

Dr. Keith showcased a family struggling with addictions and emotional separation.
The first family had a 13 year old girl whose obesity and loneliness led her to attempt
suicide twice.

Dr.Keith called her the identity patient. The patient in the family that holds the
problems that the whole family suffers. He says that we run away to unhealthy
things in our lives when we try to escape pain. The unhealthy things become friends to us.

...until we go and journey into the underlying story of pain from the past instead of
ignoring it our present pain will continue.

What unhealthy "friends" do you have in your life? Are they unhealthy relationships? Work environment?

What are you standing on?

Are you standing on sand or on the "Solid Rock"?

I bet these guys learned a lesson.

Sometimes the easiest material on hand at the time due to
complacency, the path to least resistance, or lack of knowledge and understanding is
the material that won't stand the storms of life.

I held on to fear for such a long time to build my life and
like the first 2 houses that the little pigs built, it crumbled
and shattered when the storms of life came.

What I thought all along was a shelter, was in fact an illusion.

This was until I totally surrendered my fears, insecurities, and flaws
to the One who made me.

I found unconditional Love and Grace.

This is the basis and hope of Christianity.

We have a God who by His Grace gave Christ for a life of freedom
and hope of joy and abundance....even when we mess up.

He is always there with His arms wide open to receive us.

I used to think that I had to be perfect in order to be loved and accepted by others.

This leads to a life full of acting.... from a false sense of security. Never knowing that when God
lives inside of your heart your light is worth shining. Just because He Loves You.

Today, open up your heart to God and shine on! Stand on the Rock of Christ for your
foundation.

The storms are bound to come.

But Joy cometh when we remember the Rock of Christ.

In His Love and Grace,
Your Coach to Living the Desires of your Heart,

Yukio

Our God will reign forever
And all the world will know His name

Everyone together
Sing the song of the redeemed

I know that my Redeemer lives
And now I stand on what He did
My Savior my Savior lives
Every day a brand new chance to say
Jesus You are the only way
My Savior my Savior lives

The King has come from Heaven
And darkness trembles at His name
Victory forever
Is the song of the redeemed

My Savior lives
My Savior lives
My Savior lives
